How do I choose the right box size for my pet?

Box sizes are based on weight. The quiz estimates daily ounces from the weight and activity you enter. That estimate is not a veterinary feeding prescription, and a given box does not automatically cover 14 days for every pet.

What is PMR/BARF and is the food AAFCO complete?

Accepted Answer

Recipes are formulated toward AAFCO nutrient profiles for their intended species and life stage. Final nutritional adequacy statements will be published on every label before ordering opens. AAFCO does not certify products, and we have not completed a veterinary-nutritionist review yet. AAFCO does not approve, certify, or stamp pet food. PMR and BARF are feeding frameworks, not certifications.

What protein options do you offer?

The launch catalog is chicken, turkey, beef, duck, and lamb. You can note a preference on the waitlist or in the quiz; nothing is locked until ordering opens.

Are the meals organic?

Accepted Answer

We buy human-grade meat, organ, and bone from suppliers we choose ourselves, and we'll publish supplier details as we finalize them. Organic certification has not been published for these recipes, so we don't call the food organic.

How will cold-chain delivery work?

Accepted Answer

The plan is frozen meals delivered on a refrigerated route every two weeks on Fridays. Once ordering opens, orders close at midnight Mountain Time at the end of Wednesday (America/Denver) for that week's Friday delivery. Planned delivery fee: $7 per drop, billed with the box. Not charged today.

Can I pause, change, or cancel later?

Pause or cancel any time before the Wednesday midnight Mountain Time cutoff. That week's Friday box will not be prepared or billed. Once midnight Mountain Time at the end of Wednesday has passed, that Friday's box is in production and is not refundable except as a missed, damaged, or thawed delivery. Nothing on this site charges you today. These pause, cancel, and refund terms apply when paid ordering opens. Joining the waitlist does not start a subscription.

What if I'm outside Denver?

Denver-area communities within about 50 driving miles of Aurora. Exact coverage is still being mapped. Add your ZIP to the waitlist and we'll confirm whether we can reach you before ordering opens.

How should I transition my pet to raw food?

Accepted Answer

A gradual switch over about 7–10 days is a common approach, increasing the raw share while decreasing the previous diet. See /transition-guide. Talk with your veterinarian if your pet has a medical condition.

What if my pet has allergies or sensitivities?

Accepted Answer

The catalog is single-protein so you can avoid a known trigger. Note allergies on the waitlist or in the quiz. We are not claiming to treat disease.

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

Planned starting prices: cat boxes $49 per delivery, dog boxes $52 per delivery, plus add-ons. Planned delivery fee: $7 per drop, billed with the box. Not charged today. The quiz can preview a monthly average at the every-two-week cadence (26 deliveries a year, not twice a month).

When ordering opens, a single cat box is intended to be a complete order. There is no paid minimum today because we are not taking orders.

How should I store thawed raw food?

Accepted Answer

Refrigerate thawed portions and use them within about 48 hours. Don't refreeze fully thawed raw. See /learn/thaw-guide.

What if a delivery is missed or arrives damaged?

If we miss a delivery, we refund it to the original payment method. If an order arrives damaged or thawed, send a photo to owners@purepawraw.com within 24 hours of delivery and we refund it to the original payment method. Nothing on this site charges you today. Can puppies and kittens eat raw?
